9pm: THE MODERN KIND

THE MODERN KIND: A 5 piece Rock and Roll band from Glasgow.

A sound that reminds you of the good days when rock n roll was at the peak of its powers,

The band influences come  from 90s Indie via 60s and 70s rock n roll.

Glasgow Boys with swagger and something to say.

The Modern Kind have played King Tuts along with O2 academy and most of the Glasgow circuit.

2 EP’s out and with more music to be released and recorded the band are one for keeping an eye on.

APNA: Rock band from South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The band are comprised of Jack Anderson, Thomas Wragg, Ciaran McMorrow and Guy Miller. The genre of music is generally Rock. However, writers Guy Miller and Jack Anderson have more recently begun writing more unusual pieces with anthemic choruses and string arrangements. Apna released their debut eponymous E.P on 11th December 2020 which contains two previously released singles, 'Black Star' and 'Who's It Gonna Be?'

Apna met and formed as school friends in 2015 when Guy and Jack began writing music together. This lead to the recruitment of Thomas Wragg as the bassist.

Apna have had seven drummers so far, who have - all bar one - each fallen away in their own styles. That one drummer who has decided to stick around is Ciaran McMorrow. Ciaran joined the band when he and Guy met at a music college in Glasgow. The two became immediate friends and Ciaran was pitched by Guy to the other members as the perfect drummer for Apna, this led to Ciaran becoming the first permanent drummer for the band, and the awkward drummer issue was laid to rest.

The band enjoy a good time, which they often convey in their music. However, Jack Anderson's thoughtful lyrics about real issues such as climate change, the impact of social media, time and human behaviour set the band apart from others of their style. These lyrics supported by Guy Miller's stadium sized guitar riffs and solos make for a truly immense sound of Rock.

With the new Veracity E.P, Apna hope to grab the attention of new listeners in the U.K and beyond. The band aim to release much more music that is already written and produced which will continue to secure Apna's place on the British music scene. This will include a debut album in 2022.

GRANGE STREET: A four-piece indie band from Kilmarnock's urban post-industrial Shangri-La. Formed in 2022, they draw influence from The Smiths and The Cure. Signed to 13 Deluxe Records after their debut gig, their EP "No One Wants To Work Anymore" releases in Sep 2023.

Their music tackles unrequited love, human mind fragility, and apathy.

Meet the "Fab Four":

Daniel Murray (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Cameron Gallacher (Lead Guitar/Vocals/Synth), Michael "MJ" Custodio (Bass Guitar) and Murray Campbell (Drums)

Their emotionally charged performances create a profound connection with audiences, forging a legacy in indie rock history. Join Grange Street on their melodic pilgrimage through Kilmarnock's evocative landscapes.
